Curve to the left. The overall effect is elegant and sophisticated. In the spirit of the ‘lettres batarde’ found Geoffry Tory’s Champ Fleury, Frederic Goudy designed Tory. He was looking to create a romantic type for which to typeset the book Auccasin.
Et Nicolette. It was one of Goudy’s favorite typefaces of his own creation and it is digitized by Steve Matteson to preserve that legacy.
