Primed Bold Brush Font: a chunky marker script for loud, handmade display work
Design style
Primed is a brush script drawn with an actual marker pen, and it doesn’t try to hide that. The strokes are thick and slightly uneven at the edges, with ink buildup visible at the start and end of most letters. This isn’t a smooth, calligraphic brush face in the Zapfino tradition — it’s blunt, heavy, and built for impact rather than elegance. Letters sit close together, joins are tight, and the overall colour on the page is dark and solid.
The lowercase is the workhorse here, with a forward-leaning, slightly impatient rhythm. Ascenders and descenders are kept short, which keeps the baseline rhythm tight but also means there isn’t much room for flourish within the standard set — that’s handled separately. Capitals are big, blocky, and read more like hand-lettered logotype marks than refined script majuscules. Where Primed earns its keep is in the texture: you can see the pen’s drag and the slight wobble of a hand-drawn line, which gives it a warmth that a vector-smooth script wouldn’t have.

Character set and features
The package is more generous than a single-style brush script usually is. Alongside the base upper and lowercase, there’s a full alternate character set delivered as its own font — useful for breaking up repeated letters in a word or varying the texture across a line. A separate swash font adds eighteen underline and flourish marks that sit below or alongside the lettering, which is really the only practical way to add a
