Design style

Sarin SVG is a condensed industrial sans with the corners knocked off. The skeleton is straightforward enough: narrow counters, squared terminals, a fairly heavy stroke that reads as stencil-adjacent without committing to stencil gaps. What sets it apart is the surface treatment. Each letterform carries a fine-grain, smoky texture that breaks up the edges, so the type looks like it’s dissolving into fog or resolving out of static, depending on how you squint at it. It’s less a typeface with a texture applied and more a typeface designed around the texture — the blur is structural to the character of the thing.

This is a display face with a mood, and the mood is bleak. It leans toward dystopian film titling, industrial branding, and anything that wants to feel corroded or half-erased. It is not trying to be neutral, and it shouldn’t be judged as if it were.

Character set and features

The technical setup is more considered than the average distressed display font. Both Sarin SVG and its sibling Sarin Rough include four texture variants per letter, with the stylistic-alternate set toned down for situations where a subtler grain is wanted.
