Forever Awesome is a hand-drawn duo built around a bouncy, slightly wobbly script paired with a companion all-caps face. The script leans into imperfection on purpose — strokes vary in weight as if drawn with a chunky brush marker, baselines drift a little, and letters lean at inconsistent angles. It reads as friendly rather than sloppy, which is a harder trick to pull off than it looks. The all-caps companion is more restrained: blocky, upright letters with rounded corners that feel like they came from the same hand but with the volume turned down. Together they suggest packaging for children’s products, hand-lettered signage, or anything that wants to feel approachable rather than polished.

The rough, irregular quality is the whole point here, and it’s consistent throughout — nothing feels like a stray decision. But that same roughness means this isn’t a typeface you reach for when you need composure. It has one register: cheerful and a bit chaotic.

Character set and features

The set is three fonts: the main Script, a separate Script Alt with its own set of alternate upper and lowercase characters, and an All Caps font. The Alt file is a smart way to handle alternates — rather than burying them in OpenType stylistic sets that many layout programs handle inconsistently, Sam Parrett has made switching a simple font swap, which is more reliable for anyone using basic design software or online tools.

The Script includes 69 ligatures covering common double and triple letter combinations, which matters more than the number suggests. Hand-lettered scripts live or die on how their letters connect, and unhandled repeated letters are usually where the illusion breaks — two identical letterforms sitting side by side look mechanical no matter how loose the individual strokes are. Sixty-nine combinations is enough to catch most everyday words without forcing awkward workarounds.

The All Caps font doubles as two uppercase sets accessed via the shift key, so you get two distinct cap styles without opening a second file. It’s designed specifically to sit underneath or alongside the script — smaller, calmer, avoiding the letter-clash that can happen when two expressive display faces compete for attention. Language support extends across most major European languages, including several with heavier diacritic use like Polish, Croatian and Turkish, which is a reasonable spread for a script/display pairing at this level.

Use cases

This duo is built for informal, personality-driven work: logos for kids’ brands, greeting cards, packaging that wants to feel handmade, quote graphics, and party or event materials aimed at a young or playful audience. The script works well as a headline or feature word — short bursts of text where the irregularity reads as charm rather than noise. The all-caps companion is the workhorse of the pair, better suited to subheads, taglines, or short labels where legibility needs to hold up at smaller sizes.
